StockChecka

Terms of Service

Last updated: 14 October 2026

1. About these terms

StockChecka is a stock-management app and website (stockchecka.com) provided by Brighter Future Technology LTD, registered in England and Wales, company number 17517945, registered office 13 Allison Road, London N8 0AN ("we", "us"). These terms are the agreement between us and the business or person using StockChecka ("you").

Some terms differ depending on who you are. You are a "consumer" if you are an individual using StockChecka wholly or mainly outside any trade, business, craft or profession, for example to track your own home freezer. Anyone else is a "business customer". Where a clause applies to only one of them, it says so.

By creating an account or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do so for a business, you confirm you have authority to bind it. You must be at least 18.

2. Accounts, roles and Head Office

The person who creates a business in StockChecka is its Main Manager. A Main Manager can appoint other Managers, hand over the role, and invite staff with a join code. You are responsible for who you invite, for keeping your login details secure, and for everything done under your account.

A person who creates a group becomes its Head Office. When a business links to a group, Head Office can see that business's stock, order needs, waste log, activity log and staff list (names, email addresses and roles). Head Office cannot change the business's stock. Either side can end the link at any time.

If your business is linked to a group, you must make sure your staff know that Head Office can see this information.

3. Plans, fees and the Free plan limits

The Free plan allows 1 storage location and up to 50 items in it. Items with zero stock don't count, and rows of the same product in a location count as one item. Business Pro removes these limits. Home Pro allows up to 5 storage locations and unlimited items. Home Pro (currently £1.99 a month or £19.99 a year) is for personal and household use only. Business Pro (currently £9.99 a month or £99.99 a year) is for businesses and organisations. A Business Pro plan can also apply to every site linked to a company group.

Plan prices are those shown on stockchecka.com or in the app when you subscribe, and exclude VAT for business customers. Consumers see prices that include VAT. We may change prices on 30 days' written notice, and the change applies from your next billing period. Payments are handled by the app store you subscribe through, and refunds follow that store's policy.

We may change the Free plan limits on 30 days' notice. We will not delete your data because of a change.

If you are a consumer, a paid plan renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel, and you can cancel at any time in your app store subscription settings. If we raise the price, we will tell you before it applies and you can cancel before the new price starts.

4. Your data and privacy

You own the data you put into StockChecka, including your stock lists, logs and staff details. You give us permission to store and process it to provide the service. We handle personal data as described in our privacy policy.

You are responsible for having the right to enter your staff's details, such as their email addresses. The app is hosted using Google Firebase.

We take reasonable steps to keep your data safe and backed up, but you should export your stock lists to a spreadsheet regularly. When your account is deleted we will delete your data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

We may suspend an account that breaks these rules, and will tell you why where we can.

6. Food safety and compliance: the app is an aid only

StockChecka is a stock-management aid. It is not a food safety, allergen, traceability or legal compliance record, and it does not replace your own procedures.

Quantities, use-by and expiry dates, par levels and order suggestions are only as accurate as the information entered. Voice entry and barcode scanning can make mistakes. You are responsible for checking dates and stock, for your allergen and food safety procedures, for complying with the law, and for your ordering decisions.

We are not responsible for losses caused by relying on the app in place of those checks, such as spoiled stock, over-ordering, running out of stock or a failed inspection. Clause 8 applies to this clause.

7. Availability, changes and support

We provide the service with reasonable skill and care. We aim to keep it available but cannot promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free. It relies on third-party services such as Google Firebase and the app stores, which we don't control.

If you are a consumer, the law says digital content and services must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. If they are not, you are entitled to remedies such as repair, a price reduction or a refund. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

We may improve, change or remove features. If we make a change that materially reduces what a paying customer receives, we will give 30 days' notice.

Support is by email at support@stockchecka.com, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm GMT/BST. We reply as soon as we reasonably can. Free plan users get support on the same basis, with no guaranteed response time.

8. Our liability and the cap

8.1 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

8.2 Subject to 8.1, if you are a business customer, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business, goodwill or anticipated savings, for loss or corruption of data, or for indirect or consequential loss. This applies whether the claim is in contract, negligence or otherwise.

8.3 Subject to 8.1, if you are a business customer, our total liability to you for all claims arising from these terms or your use of StockChecka in any 12-month period is limited to:

8.4 If you are a consumer, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or of our negligence, but not for loss or damage that is not foreseeable. We are not responsible for business losses, because you are not using StockChecka for business. If a fault in StockChecka damages your device or digital content, we will repair the damage or pay reasonable compensation. Nothing in this clause affects your legal rights as a consumer.

9. Ending the agreement

You can stop using StockChecka and delete your account at any time. If you cancel a paid plan, it continues until the end of the period you've paid for.

If you are a consumer, you have the right to cancel a paid plan within 14 days of buying it, without giving a reason. If you asked us to start the service within those 14 days, you must pay for the part you have used up to the point you cancel. We will refund anything else to your original payment method within 14 days, or through the app store if you bought it there.

We may suspend or end your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, don't pay, or use the service unlawfully. Where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

If we decide to stop providing StockChecka, we will give at least 90 days' notice and refund any prepaid fees for the period after it closes.

After your account ends, you can export your data for 30 days, and then we delete it as set out in clause 4. Clauses 4, 6, 8 and 10 continue to apply.

10. General and governing law

These terms are the whole agreement between us about StockChecka. We may update them by giving you 30 days' notice by email or in the app. If you keep using the service after that, you accept the update. If a change is material and you don't agree, you may end your account. If you are a consumer, we will only change these terms for a good reason, such as a change in the law, a change to the service or a security need, and if you end your account because of a change you will get a refund for any prepaid period after it.

You may not transfer your rights under these terms without our written consent. We may transfer ours to a successor of our business. If we delay enforcing a right, we have not given it up. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. We are not liable for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction, except that a consumer may also bring a claim in the courts of the part of the UK where they live.
